100_0315Hi, I’m Sinclair.  How many rock bands can you name with animal names?   Here is my list.

Animals- English group of the 1960’s known for “The House Of The Rising Sun”‘.

Glass Tiger- Canadian group formed in 1983 known for “Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone”.

Three Dog Night- American group best known between 1968-1975. Top hit  was “Joy To The World”.

Blacksnake- American group formed in 1997 in the San Francisco Bay area.  Known for “Rattle In The Sand” and “Tension” albums.

Eagles- American group formed in the 1970’s.  ” Hotel California” and “Desperado” among their many hits.

Pussycat Dolls- American group started in 1995.  Originally was a burlesque troupe based in Los Angeles.

Dixie Chicks-  American country music group started in 1989 in Dallas.  They are the best selling female group in the country.

Josie and the Pussycats- fictional rock band created by Dan DeCarlo.  Have been featured in comic books, TV and the movies.

Blue Oyster Cult- American group started in 1967 in New York.  Songs include “Don’t Fear The Reaper”, “Godzilla” and “Burnin For You”.

Yard Birds- English group that preformed in the 1960’s.  Top guitarist was Eric Clapton.

Steppenwolf- Canadian heavy metal group started in 1967.  Best known for “Born To Be Wild”.

Cowsills- American group from Rhode Island started in 1965.  Songs include “The Rain” and “The Park And Other Things”.

Counting Crows- American group started in 1991.  Known for hit single “Mr. Jones”.

Hootie and the Blowfish- American group started in 1986 and very popular in the late 1990’s.   Songs include “Hold My Hand”.

Stray Cats- American rockabiily group started in 1997.  Popular in the U.S., England and Australia.

Buddy Holly and the Crickets- American group from Texas started in the 1950’s.  First hit single was “That Will Be The Day”.
